Suspension

Suspension

To represent a time where things were made without cutting corners, DDAM connected with renowned Detroit artist James Kaye to create “Suspension” . A nod to the importance of trade skilled labor which is congruent to DDAM’s messaging “No Shortcuts. No Secrets. No Exceptions”, and the pride they take in each stitch and seam being exactly right.

Sharing the same beliefs in sustainability, this piece was made using leftover scraps of Japanese Terry from DDAM’s production and were sewn with a vintage Japanese Juki 562 sewing machine. This piece sits in a gilded wooden frame and has 76 individually dyed “terry tubes”.
